- DPU part of team staging Central American datathon for informal transportation
The DPU team, led by Dr Daniel Oviedo, will join GPIT and CPSU as an academic partner and will facilitate a data collection platform and know-how on informal transportation - DPU’s Prof. Haim Yacobi receives funding for research project on the “Neo-Apartheid city”
Congratulations to the DPU’s Prof. Haim Yacobi, Programme Leader of the MSc Health in Urban Development, for receiving the Urban Studies Foundation Seminar Series Awards - New collaborative project launched to explore the impact COVID-19 on young minoritised adults
The project, ‘Navigating Space Under Lockdown’, led by Barbara Lipietz, Daniel Oviedo and Jordana Ramalho at the DPU alongside partners at The Ubele Initiative, aims to capture the effects of COVID-19 and lockdown on young racialised/minoritised - Video produced from ‘civic urban media’ engagement on responses to COVID-19 in informal settlements
Alongside partners in Brazil and Nigeria, the DPU facilitated a series of discussion exploring responses to COVID-19 in informal settlements in São Paulo and Lagos through communication practices, and how civic urban media can help to secure the right to housing. - The DPU contribute to the capacity building component of The Global Future Cities Programme
DPU’s Barbara Lipietz and Catalina Ortiz delivered a presentation titled ‘Inclusive Prosperity: from urban projects to strategic spatial planning systems’ to more than 250 attendees
