The Sanjaya Lall Prize for 2022
The Board of Oxford Development Studies awards an annual prize to honour the memory of the late Professor Sanjaya Lall. A prize of £500 is awarded for the best article published in each volume of the journal. On alternate years a £1000 prize is awarded for the best paper written by a student and published within the previous two years.
In respect of Volume 50, the prize has been awarded to Daniele Barbosa, Edmundo Oderich and Angela Camana for ‘Kaingang indigenous, family farmers and soy in southern Brazil: new old conflicts over land’.
In respect of Volumes 49 and 50, the student prize has been awarded to Lucia Aline Rost for ‘By sharing work we are moving forward’: change in social norms around men’s participation in unpaid care work in Northern Uganda’.
