Fifty years of CIDT
The University of Wolverhampton hosted a celebration to mark fifty years of the Centre of International Development and Training. Head of Centre Ella Haruna shared examples of CIDT programmes and projects and looked back across five development decades and CIDT’s contribution within each. Panel session discusses the importance and role of community engagement
At the heart of successful development activities is community engagement. Positive impact is contingent on the involvement and relationships built, fostered and empowered between key stakeholders throughout the cycle of progress. CIDT and esteemed partners came together to discuss the importance and role of community engagement, highlighting some of the challenges of community engagement, drawing on experience from three geographies: the Caribbean, the Congo Basin and Somaliland.
