EDI research, comms and events assistant: ToR

As part of our ongoing work to seek greater diversity, equality and inclusion in development studies we are seeking a development postgraduate student or recent graduate with experience in research and events organising required to work during 2024-25 at approx. 0.2 fte on a consultancy basis (total 400 hours, 55 days). They will be responsible for co-organising face-to-face workshops for early career researchers in development studies and online training for senior colleagues, carrying out small scale qualitative research and analysis on best practice, and lead authoring a report on successful Equality Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, and other communication outputs, as time allows.

  • Start date: 21 October 2024
  • Fee: c£18 per hour/£130 per day
  • Time: a maximum of 55 days of work spread over approximately one year
  • Line manager: Laura Camfield
  • Meetings: Weekly with Laura Camfield (and to also include Uma Kambhampati and Touseef Mir periodically)
  • Reporting: short written outline of activities in previous week to be provided by email to the reporting group.
